Yep! He is coming to town!

Grace Note – He is coming to town

“Santa Claus is Coming to Town" was first heard on Eddie Cantor's radio show in October 1934. Sung by Tom Stacks, accompanied by the banjo of Harry Reser and his band, the song immediately went to #1 on the chart. Since then, over 200 artists have recorded it, and the one I first remember was Gene Autry, which I just heard on the radio. Singing it will instantly put you in the Spirit! Go ahead take a moment and sing it. I won’t provide the lyrics because you know it!

Could the writers of this song have gotten their idea from 2 Peter 3: 8-15? Peter tells us that waiting for the Lord promise to return seems like a thousand years, but he will come when we least expect it. Peter also instructs us what sort of person we ought to be while we wait, one living a holy life, eager to see him, and found living at our best, in purity and peace. He encourages us to be patient so those who are lost may be saved. You may be the very one he is waiting on.

This Sunday you will hear about the Good News that is coming to town. Don't fall asleep and miss it. Invite a friend to listen to a story that will change their life!

Grace and Peace,

Pastor Mike
